Get the i-nigma Reader for QR Codes
A very fast and widely available QR Code reader supplied by 3GVision.
On the Mobile Web - Go to www.i-nigma.mobi on your mobile. i-nigma will automatically identify your handset type, download and install i-nigma.
By SMS - Text the word i-nigma to: +44 7781 489340 (or 07781 489340 in the UK). You will receive back an SMS containing a link to the i-nigma software download site. Please note that this site is in the UK and may be an expensive call!
There is no point in going direct to the download site from a regular browser as the software is optimised to work for your phone.
If you would like to see how QR codes work and don't have a compatible phone handy, you can download the QuickMark reader which will work with your web cam to mimic the cell phone experience.
Here is a cool programme still under development that lets you import a QRcode image and it will decypher it for you.
Would you like some help with getting your reader to scan properly? Yes
No
1. Having problems clicking your code? Try taking a pic of the Code on our screen.
2. Getting frustrated? Have a play with your phone settings – try going to the options in the scanning software application you have downloaded.
3. Blinded by the lights? Does the sun/lights in the room create a strip across the code? Try turning the code in various directions – it will work anyway up. Also try shielding the code from the light to eliminate the strip.
Or just move away from the light
4. Distance can make a difference some phones are short sighted, some have long distance vision, so play with the distance and see what you are.
5. Try different angles – the camera likes to be at right angles to the code.
6. Change the zoom on your lens.
7. Sometimes rebooting the code scanner software helps – think of it like Windows a quick reboot might fix it. You can do this by just closing the software and opening it again.
8. On some phones, you may need to change the setting to Close up to scan the code.
9. Still having issues? Try another piece of software.
10 Don't forget QR codes often direct your phone to content on a mobile website. You will need the ability to access the internet included in your mobile package.
11. New handsets and relatively new web-enabled handsets have pre-installed code reader software.
12. Is your phone compatible NO? then get a new phone. Check out our phones page to see if your model is listed.
